My Kindegarten Class

They sing their hearts out singing, "This Little Light of Mine," albeit a little off key. Believe it or not I have been working for a month on this, and they're actually doing better than most of the other kindegarten kids. We had a practice run of the Puppet show, and I will post that later. I think they're precious, but then I'm pretty biased.

What I did with my tme off ...

I did get a new travel agent and I will have my visa to China by the 21st of this month. I will be planning my trip for the 26th of February. So, over my long and luxiorous break, where I didn't have to work for a week, I accomplished very little. I worked out, so I'm keeping up with that ... yeah I think that might be it. Oh wait I made a new friend on the subway who speaks Korean. His Canadian best friend has moved away, so I think if I become his new best friend I could practice my Korean with a native speaker. Olleh! Olleh (Pronounced olay, like the spanish one) is from this korean ad. It's spelled that way because it's a telephone company ... did you see it was hello backwards. Glorious...

Also, On break I visited Whitney, who lives in Hwajeong. It was AWESOME! I played one of those claw machines and immediately won, not once, but twice! What to do with two pooh bears? Give 'em away my friends, and make new friends. Here's a few photos of my visit.
Behold, the christmas ram and Ilsan, this is where the shenanigans of the evening began...

Then here's where I won the two poohs, one of which I promptly gave away to the first couple I saw. Following that you can watch Pooh's downward spiral into drink and gambling. The photo's you've seen are the brilliant documentary and photo stylings of Whitney. I brought a camera, but the battery died as soon as I tried to turn it on.

That night ... and the next day she watched my own downward spiral as I wasted ten thousand won trying to recapture my glory. It was all for naught, but people ten thousand won is like 8.91 U.S. dollars.
(Caption 1: You've lost it kid ... and you don't even know it! Caption 2: Damn you claw machine!)

Caption 3: Day Two of my addiction...

Not exactly a fortune, but a lot to spend on a claw machine. I have to get ready for work, but I promise to write more. After all I haven't even gotten to the part of my break where I went and visited Alicia and saw the Seoul Museum of Art. Here's a preview of the good times with her.. New Years Shenanigans

Some sort of choreographed dance broke out at midnight in Hongdae. I caught the tail end of it, and then the ensuing dance off. We were in the bar right above it, so we got this cool birds eye view.

Forecast: SNOW ALL DAY

To appreciate the beauty of a snow flake, it is necessary to stand out in the cold.- Unknown

I wish I could find the author of this quote, but I quite agree with it's sentiments. It also reminds me of life in general. It may come with harsh conditions, it may be as fleeting as the snow, but it is as beautiful and intricate as a snowflake.

Now, I have to trudge through the snow which has piled up higher since two hours ago, when this was taken, to go to work. No snow day here folks :( I'll have a vlog posted later this week, and one of my new years resolutions is to keep this blog updated more often. I'm working on VISAS so I can travel when I have my week off. Fingers crossed!

Resolutions...

I'm going to learn conversational Korean. I found a webpage that has a few key phrases, and when I get a new headset I'm going to practice on my rosetta stone again.

The website: http://www.linguanaut.com/english_korean.htm

I recently decided it would be okay to use bittorrent and download free shows and stuff while in Korea because I don't think it's illegal here. Also, I couldn't watch most shows for free online because I'm outside the US. Guess what?

I downloaded that P90x program.

It's day 2 and I can definitely feel the burn. I told my co-worker I would do it with her three times a week, but I'm gonna actually try to do it everyday.

If I get to day 90 and I'm jacked I'll post pictures.

There were some others, but my friend Becky wrote them down when we went to lunch the other day. We titled the list POA (plan of action) and I don't quite remember all the stuff, but this is what I got done today. I'll edit this post once I get the full list from Becky.

Also, I tried to clean my apartment, but failed miserably.
